''Hypatia: A Journal of Feminist Philosophy'' is a peer-reviewed academic journal published quarterly by Wiley-Blackwell that covers feminist philosophy. The editor-in-chief is Sally Scholz (Villanova University). Book reviews are published online by (Hypatia Reviews Online ). Shelley Wilcox (San Francisco State University) is the book review editor. ''Hypatia'' has its roots in the Society for Women in Philosophy. Its founding editor was Azizah Y. al-Hibri, who started it in 1982 as "piggy back" issues of the ''Women's Studies International Forum'' before it became an independent journal in 1986. The journal is named after Hypatia of Alexandria, an ancient Greek philosopher, who taught in the fields of mathematics, astronomy, and astrology. According to the ''Journal Citation Reports'', the journal has a 2014 impact factor of 0.446, ranking it 29th out of 41 journals in the category "Women's Studies". == References ==
